Triple Victory for PeraCom at INNOVEXA 2026

PeraCom undergraduates delivered an outstanding performance at the Open Business Ideation Summit 2026 (INNOVEXA 2026), securing the Championship, First Runner-Up, and Second Runner-Up positions in the inter-faculty business idea pitching competition held as part of Innovation Day 2026.

Organized by the Business Incubation and Innovation Ecosystem Services (BIIES) Unit of the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya, the competition was held on 22nd July 2026 at the Conference Hall, Faculty of Management. The event aimed to foster entrepreneurship by helping students develop innovative startup ideas while enhancing their idea pitching and public speaking skills. The competition attracted more than 20 business proposals from across the university. 

The championship was awarded to Team LOX for LOX, an IoT-enabled smart locker ecosystem that provides secure and convenient temporary storage through a mobile application and cloud-based management platform. The winning team comprised Chamika Uduwaka, Shane Baines, and Deeshan Wijesinghe.

The First Runner-Up award was presented to Team Spectron for SPECTRON for AgriAssist, a modular IoT platform that helps farmers monitor crops and growing conditions while providing timely updates and recommendations. The team consisted of Jarshigan Kamalanathan, Thirumenan Sivakulasingam, Tithurshan Tharmarathnam, and Varshan Ambigaipakan.

The Second Runner-Up award was secured by Team ResQ for ResQ, a smart CPR training system that provides real-time feedback to improve CPR practice through embedded sensors and interactive dashboards.  Ketheeswaran Kartheepan, Sivasakthynathan Ganathipan, Sarvaloganayagam Kavishanthan, and Amirsha Vincent George.

These outstanding achievements reflect the entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and technical excellence of PeraCom students. Congratulations to all three teams for bringing recognition to the Department of Computer Engineering and the University of Peradeniya.
