In the series of achievements, the day to witness the major milestones of two remarkable programmes, ACES Coders v9.0, the island's largest coding challenge, and the distribution ceremony of Arduino kits for the worthwhile Project Nenathambara, arrived on the 17th of December 2022.f
Prof. Roshan G. Ragel, Dr. Janaka Alawatugoda and Mr.D.S. Deegalla from the Department of Computer Engineering were awarded for their research excellence. Prof. Roshan G. Ragel received awards for the year 2018 and 2022, while Dr. Janaka Alawatugoda and Mr.D.S. Deegalla received certificates of commendation at the award ceremony.
The Computer Engineering Seminar Series has been running since May 2021, including audiences from the Department of Computer Engineering, University of Peradeniya as well as attendees from other universities in Sri Lanka and abroad.

The term “MakerSpace” is usually used to define a place in which people with similar interests can come together to work on projects and convert their ideas/dreams into real-world functioning units. The MakerSpace lab is now established under Embedded Systems and Computer Architecture Lab (also known as ESCAL). Recently, it was opened for Computer Engineering students for their ongoing projects.
This induction program, while celebrating the hard work, commitment, and passion of the students joining the department after achieving the highest grades throughout their first year of studies, guided them to jump-start and pave the way toward their goals in the field of computer engineering.
Many congratulations to Mr. Risith Perera, a graduate of the Department of Computer Engineering for winning the Prof. J.B Dissanayake Prize for Industrial Training Best Performance for university graduates-2020/21 from among all the engineering graduates of the University of Peradeniya.
