Two publications from the department have won best paper awards at the 2nd International conference on Adavanced Research in Computing (ICARC) 2022. ICARC 2022 was organised by Deparment of Computing and Information Systems, Sabaragamuwe Univeristy of Sri Lanka and was technically co-sponsored by IEEE.

The paper “Micro service based edge computing architecture for internet of things” authored by Lakara Chandasiri (E15), Sonali Prasadika (E15), Sewwandi Nisansala(E15) and Dr Upul Jayasinghe won the best paper of the Parallel and Distributed Computing Track. This publication is one of the outputs of final year project by the student group.

The paper titled ” Interpretable Student Performance Prediction using Explainable Boosting Machine for Multi-Class Classification” authored by Shayaman Jayasundara (E14), Amila Indika (E14) and Dr. Damayanthi Herath won the best paper award of the Technology-enhanced Learning and Teaching Track.
